Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Puzzle Pointer handles information.
Information handled
Puzzle Pointer handles the puzzle artwork, box, poster, and loose-piece photos you choose to submit; puzzle names, barcodes, or SKUs you use for lookup; private saved puzzle sessions and results; a pseudonymous account identifier; and Apple purchase information needed to verify subscription access and solve allowance. If you choose Sign in with Apple, the service stores a protected hash of Apple’s stable account identifier. It does not store your Apple identity token or Apple email address.
Use and processing
This information is used only to identify the puzzle artwork, process the piece search, restore your saved puzzle history, prevent duplicate or unauthorized allowance use, provide purchases, and handle recovery or support. Data travels over encrypted connections to the Puzzle Pointer control plane. A short-lived, hash-checked solver bundle is processed by Modal’s GPU service. Apple processes optional sign-in and subscription purchases. Cloudflare carries encrypted service traffic and hosts this policy site.
Sharing and tracking
Puzzle Pointer does not sell personal information and does not use submitted photos or account activity for advertising, cross-app tracking, or model training. The app contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDK. Information is disclosed only to the service providers above as needed to operate the app, to comply with law, or to protect the service and its users.
Retention, export, and deletion
Photos attached to a saved puzzle or result are retained so that history and recovery continue to work until you delete that puzzle or your private data. Unattached upload originals are eligible for cleanup after seven days. Temporary solver-transfer data is removed after processing. You can delete individual puzzles or choose More → Delete private data to remove your private photos, sessions, jobs, feedback, and app access credentials. Minimal pseudonymous purchase and allowance records may be retained when needed for billing reconciliation, fraud prevention, refunds, legal obligations, and restoring Apple purchases. Puzzle Pointer does not currently provide a separate machine-readable export; saved puzzle history remains viewable in the app while the account is active.
Your choices
Camera access is requested only after you choose to take a photo. The system photo picker shares only the images you select. Sign in with Apple is optional. You can restore or manage your subscription from Plan details, delete individual puzzles from the app, or delete your private data from More. Deleting app data does not cancel an Apple subscription; subscriptions are managed through Apple.
